I Don't Give a Hoot About What You Think

Well, its been a while, and a lot has happened this week that I can enlighten you on, but I'm deciding not to. Maybe I'll update you on it later, or you can ask me about it.

However, today, before I went bowling with Melanie and Matt, I made an awesome discovery, and my crush on Rivers Cuomo has been rekindled.

I bring to you . . . .

Pork and Beans
They say I need some Rogaine to put in my hair
Work it out at the gym to fit my underwear
Oakley makes the shades that transform a tool
You’d hate for the kids to think that you lost your cool

I’mma do the things that I wanna do
I ain’t got a thing to prove to you
I’ll eat my candy with the pork and beans
Excuse my manners if I make a scene
I ain’t gonna wear the clothes that you like
I’m fine and dandy with the me inside
One look in the mirror and I’m tickled pink
I don’t give a hoot about what you think

Everyone likes to dance to a happy song (Hey, hey)
With a catchy chorus and beat so they can sing along (Hey, hey)
Timbaland knows the way to reach the top of the charts
Maybe if I work with him I can perfect the art

I’mma do the things that I wanna do
I ain’t got a thing to prove to you
I’ll eat my candy with the pork and beans
Excuse my manners if I make a scene
I ain’t gonna wear the clothes that you like
I’m fine and dandy with the me inside
One look in the mirror and I’m tickled pink
I don’t give a hoot about what you think

No I don’t care,
I don’t care

I’mma do the things that I wanna do
I ain’t got a thing to prove to you
I’ll eat my candy with the pork and beans
Excuse my manners if I make a scene
I ain’t gonna wear the clothes that you like
I’m fine and dandy with the me inside
One look in the mirror and I’m tickled pink
I don’t give a hoot about what you think

Strange title, sweet song. I dig it. It's really catchy. I can't wait for the new album to come out (the RED album). 6.24.08. Be ready. Go HERE to listen to it.

PS- That picture reminds me of my brother Justin . . . crazy stuff.

what a day!

Today was definitely an adventure. It started out this morning when there was no Jazz Band, so me and Tommy got to sleep in an extra hour. When we were finally ready to go at 7:30, we loaded everything up and went out to the barn to get in the car. When we got out there, the barn was empty, which meant I forgot to park my car in the barn last night. It wasn't a big deal because it had been raining all night, so the windows weren't frosted, but by the time I got to my car, I would have rather had the windows frosted than what I found. I had left the sunroof open, so the front seats were completely soaked from the rain. No bueno. Luckily, my mom let me take the truck so me and Tommy had dry seats and warmth to ride into town with, and we weren't even tardy!

So today was Region Large Group in Gunnison today. That means that the whole Symphonic band loaded up into a bus and two excursions to play our hearts out in hopes to make it to state. I ended up on the bus, sitting next to Matt H., Matt C. and Melanie, which = partytime! Here's an idea of what we did.
First, I convinced Matt to let me take some pictures of him, so he started having loads of fun w with Melanie. . .thats why he has a bloody nose!

Then, Kenzi threw us a bag of Swedish Fish, and we had loads of fun!

Me and Matt were fishy gansters, and then we tried to eat them off our chins!

I finally remembered I had a bag full of Smarties with me, so I taught them how to eat a Smartie. After I finished, it was Matts turn to show off his skills:

When we finally got to Gunnison we listened to Manti and Gunnison play, then went to lunch, and then we played. Afterwards, we listened to Grand and San Juan, and a certain Freshman was having a blast diggin' gold, if you know what I mean. Me and Matt laughed our heads off and he was literally crying! It was so much fun.

When we finally got back to the school, it was after 3 so I was late to work, but Mr. Thompson hadn't showed up with the trailer containing my sax yet. That meant I had to chill at the band room until he showed up, which wasn't until about 3:30. Then I waited with Matt to see if he made it to State Solo & Ensemble with his piano solo (which he did). It was the most exciting thing ever!! After Mr. Thompson told us we took straight superiors so we were going to State, we left and I gave him a ride home.

Then I went to work and totally did not do good. I was dialing on the new Panel and a little bit on Brand, and I didn't get any completes at all.

The big thing of the day was when I finally got home. I walked in the garage door, and my family was sitting in the living room, all on the couch. My mom said "Hi Lauren" and I said "Hi Mom!". Then I looked at her. She was lying on the couch, with her leg propped up on a bunch of pillows. As I got closer, I saw she had a great big black boot on her left foot. Turns out she broke her ankle this morning by walking into her office in the basement and slipping on a magazine. She even had some pictures of the un-coolness on her phone. It looked totally deformed and dislocated. I can't hardly believe it, I think its insane, especially after Trent breaking his ankle less than a month ago, it seems like more than just a coincidence. I feel really bad because she's having troubles with the crutches, and I won't be here much to help her out. Its really a bad situation, but there is lots of people that have offered to help. Jeri actually took her to the hospital this morning and brought us dinner tonight. Nan is going to be over tomorrow for lunch, and I'll stop by since I get out of school early. Who knows what the rest of this is going to be like. I hope she recovers quickly and perfectly. We're just praying she won't need surgery like Trent. That would be no bueno.

Anyways, thats my big story of today. Hopefully things will calm down for the rest of the week, I mean, its only Monday! Tomorrow is Sterling Scholar interviews, Thursday is Dad's Birthday, and Saturday is Tommy;s Birthday. Lets hope for a safe, fun week!
