Day 9: Church Services, Harmony, Pennsylvania

Today we had to be up at 6 to be at church at 7 before we left at 9. Since it was Fast Sunday, we were able to have a Fast and Testimony meeting and it was amazing. Most people shared their testimonies of things they had felt in the Grove (myself included) and it was one of the coolest experiences to hear everyones testimony or even just feel it.

After Sacrament Meeting, we had about an hour to finish packing and getting ready for the 8 hour bus ride to Gettysburg, PA.

On the way there, we stopped for lunch, but since there were so many of us fasting, a bunch of us chilled in the parking lot while the rest of people got some food. When we finally got back on the bus, we drove a few miles up the road to the location of the Restoration of the Priesthood on the banks of the Susquehanna River.

It's also the place of the only home Joseph and Emma had for themselves which is where most of the translating of the Golden Plates was located,

and the burial place of both their first son Alvin and Emma's parents. President Monsen explained to us the history of the place, and we had some testimonies shared about the power of the Priesthood, and even though we weren't able to actually walk down to the banks where the restoration happened, the Spirit was still there and it was such a good feeling.

We rode on the bus for another few hours and finally arrived in Gettysburg. I had been sitting by Weston, Nick J., and Lenay from Hurricane and was having a good time, but I was definitely hungry from fasting all day. We arrived in Gettysburg at about quarter to 7 and got to the General Pickett's Buffet which was wonderfully delicious. I was entertained with dinner and a show by the one and only Luke Johnson, and it was a great time. When we got back to the motel, I changed into my pajamas and while everyone else was swimming, I messed around on Cher's phone and had a good time laughing it up with Clayton, Alan, and Cher. Alan went to the Sacred Grove this morning after Sacrament Meeting and on his way back he was late so he was running and he biffed it hardcore. He scraped up one palm, and his fingers are bruised funky on the other hand. I feel bad for the kid. I can't give him so many hi-fives anymore. It was pretty swollen after dinner, but he says he's doing fine. He's one amazing kid, for shizzle.

Tomorrow we get to go to Washington DC, and then we'll head back to Gettysburg to see the battle grounds. I'm so excited for DC, last time I went there I had an absolute wonderful time. Its going to be great, and we get to wear our amazing orange tour shirts! Partytime!!!
