Adventures at Work

As of now, I'm sitting in my freezing little room at the Morris Center attempting some last minute studying for a test I have to take later today. However, while I'm sitting here shivering trying to concentrate on world politics I'm not nearly as interested in compared to my Speech and Debate days, there are two Independent Study guys talking, and I can't help but post about their conversation.

Everyone and their dog have been talking about the "Free Grand Slam" day at Denny's today. These guys are talking about it, but in a way that is blowing my mind (especially because they think they're geniuses for understanding it this way.

They keep going off about how Denny's gets it, and its only in Utah where a free meal would get so much attention (I guess the Denny's here in Provo had a line going all the way around it today with people waiting to get their free breakfast.) Apparently, as Mormons, we've been brainwashed into doing anything as long as there is food involved. In fact, one of them said, "You could give people an invitation that says, 'Please come help in some back breaking work for 12 hours, and we'll have free pizza after!' and you'll have a ton of people show up because there is free food involved.

Granted, it is something that is used at every activity ranging from YM/YW to Elders Quorum, but its not just because we're LDS. Any poor college student would jump at the opportunity for free food, not just BYU students.

Mainly, the only reason I'm posting this is to procrastinate my homework for a few more minutes, but really, these guys just really annoy me. Especially because they talk loud enough for everyone to hear, but if someone shows interest in their conversation, they get offended for people listening in on their conversation. Whatever though. If they're going to stereotype me, I will stereotype them. For now at least.

Oh my goodness, that's so true! Ha ha ha! However, I think it's just nature to want free food. Because you know what they say, "Free food tastes better."
I would work for 12 hours for free food. ha. I did for the Manti pageant actually... we got free breakfast at 4 AM when we were almost done.
O Food! :D
